A Clockwork Orange - Alex

I love watching movies and was jus going through the usual stuff the action, romance, comedies some even on drugs, some with messages in them , some that are really slickly  made let us say there are films that come and go like  the Americn Pie series i think the 7th one is on the floor ;) then there are ones on wars and what not but it was when i saw A Clockwork Orange that i realized that some movies are made just to show the evil darker part in all of us Normally good triumphs over evil and we all move on to the next flick

Rarely have i seen a flick where the dark side so shamelessly overpowers the good side. The director Stanley Kubrick (who is fast becoming one of my favourite directors cause of all the genres he has successfully covered) has skillfully covered the journey of a delinquent young man Alex  in futuristuc Britain in the picture above who commits all kinds of perverted crimes with his gang .. he is jailed send for rehabilitation and then comes out reformed (or not) …

The music has been used effectively in this movie and the the theme song really sets the mood of the movie .. its dark and futuristic

Scenes from the movie are classy like one where Alex is in jail and the preacher is preaching abt the part when Jesus carries the cross before the crucification and the Romans are whipping him and he begs the Lord to forgive humanity for what they are doing … and all the other inmates arent paying attention to the preacher but Alex is closing his eyes and smiling … The preacher thinks that alex is say “coming in the presence of the lord” … but actually Alex is dreaming of himself being the Roman who’s actually whipping Jesus !!!

The sheer notority of the film makes it worth a watch though the british accent gets to you a bit … Some people mite not like it because as i said in this movie evil rules !!! But if you are a movie buff and dont want to miss a movie in a genre that has not been made before go for this one …

Diceliving and other things

The Dice Man

It was the first day of 2008 … my first blog … after a thinking for a really long time i decided to start off with a book dat i just finished reading … i never thought that books really provide anything other than say a lil entertainment and thats wat is really important… to be entertained … I read this old book called The Dice Man. The book tells the story of a psychiatrist named Luke Rhinehart who, feeling bored and unfulfilled in life, starts making decisions about what to do based on a roll of a die…. this concept is what diceliving is all about … As this book went into the darker side of life and into “evil crimes” that keep happening in our lives it was banned in a lot of countries … including ours that added a new thrill level while reading the book ;) … as i kept reading the book … which kept reaching fascinating somewhat insane levels of thinking with a lot of reality in it … i realized that sometimes the most unreal and out of the world ideas when put across in the right way can be really convincing ….

Just so that u get a bit of where im at here’s how the book ends

“One day when Luke was being chased by two FBI men with .45s he came to a cliff and leapt off. Just catching the roof to a wild vine twenty yards below the ridge and dangling there.Lookin down he saw fifty feet below six policemen with machine guns, mace, tear gas cannisters and 2 armoure cars.Just above him he saw two mice, one white and one black beginning to gnaw away at the vine to which he clung.Suddenly he saw just in front of him a cluster of luscious strawberries.

“Ah,” he said. ‘A new option’.
